  1. What is the best way to pay Private Luxury Tours in Italy?

You can pay by credit card (there is a 4% processing fee), bank wire, cash in euros on the day of or by check to our US office.

 

2. Does Private Luxury Tours in Italy offer services all over Italy?

Yes, we can offer our services for the whole country from Sardinia and Sicily to Capri and Ischia, to the most northern part of Lake Como, Venice and the Dolomites. 

 

3. Where are Private Luxury Tours in Italy located?

We have an office in Sorrento and one office in the US. 

 

4. How can we book with Private Luxury Tours in Italy?

You can send us an email with your interest and any other information you would like to share and we will create a personalized proposal at your request.

 

5. Are these shared or private tours?

Almost everything we do is private. There will be some shared tours such as some wine tours and a few others, but mainly it will just consist of your group with a private driver or guide.

 

6. Can you customize an itinerary just for my group? 

Yes, everything is customizable from the pickup time to the type of tour you would like to participate in, we can adjust anything to your liking and what is best for you and your group.

 

7. Will we have fluent English speaking drivers and guides?

Yes, all of our drivers and guides speak very good English. If it is a last minute request during high season, we may not be able to guarantee that they are fluent. 

 

8. What type of vehicles do you have? 

We have Mercedes sedans that can fit 2 people with 1-checked luggage each and we have Mercedes minivans that can sit up to 7 people with 1-checked luggage each. For larger groups, we can either use two minivans or in some cases, we can offer Mercedes Sprinter vehicles or larger buses. 

 

9. Do you work with agents from touring agencies?

Yes, we work directly with agents from companies all around the US to help give their clients the perfect trip. 

 

10. Are all your drivers licensed? 

Yes, all of our drivers have a professional license that is needed to be a private driver in Italy.

12. What is the difference between a private licensed driver and a private touring guide?

 

Private driver/Chauffeur license: Must have a professional driving license and special permits to drive passengers commercially

Role:

  • Provides transportation in a licensed vehicle (like a car or van).

  • Can offer basic commentary during the drive (general info, pointing out landmarks).

  • Cannot legally guide you inside historical sites, museums, or archaeological areas.
  • Best for: Traveling between cities or for panoramic tours where guiding is not the main focus.

 

Private guide license: Must pass rigorous exams and be certified by the region in which they guide. 

 

Role:

  • Provides in-depth historical, cultural, and artistic commentary.

  • Legally allowed to guide you inside museums, churches, archaeological sites, and other cultural landmarks.

  • Typically does not provide transportation (though some may accompany you on transport arranged separately).

Best for: Walking tours, museum visits, and detailed explanations of cultural/historical sites.
